The book originated from a training booklet used in the interviewer preparation course at the Centro Espírita Allan Kardec in Campinas. It was conceived and organized by Dayse Jurgensen Machado in 1968, after decades of experience in assisting people.
The mentor, who trained more than 1,600 workers in Campinas and other cities, gradually compiled valuable information — now preserved in this work. Among the teachings and interviewing techniques, the book highlights the true meaning of welcoming a stranger as a brother in the Spiritist Center.
Although originally designed to guide interviewers and receptionists, Fraternal Welcome in the Spiritist Center reveals itself as an essential book for reflecting on the true Christian practice of listening, observing, sharing experiences, putting oneself in another’s place, and helping with affection and discretion.
